Augustine chooses Scripture passages in trin. 1, 7-118 in response to Homonian theology, addressing passages that he feels are burdened by anti-Nicene claims (1. Tim. 6,15-17), as well as adducing those that support his own doctrine (John 1,1-2; 14,28b; John 5,20; Philippians 2,5-7.
