Summary: | Two thinkers and Christian preachers like Paul and Augustine reflect about the faith of jesus. The faith fulfills an important role in both thinkers, but it is not the centre of their theology. Now, we don't study the pauliner faith in his controversial viewer, for instance, faith and justification, faith and Law. here, the paulin faith is studied from his own theology to the light of actual exegesis. For Paul, faith is funamentally 'believe in Christ', to listen his Gospel to the light of hus predication. And the Christians have to live and to keep their faith in their normal life. For Augustine, an enthusiastic follower of Paul, faith is an instrument to get near to God and he then establishes the faith through reason. For Augustine it is essential to believe in order to understand, for understanding is to believe. To gain reason to faith is to discover to be near to Jesus. |
