Description
Summary:Traduction anglaise de la Vie de Mani, P. Colon, inv. 4780 The Cologne Mani Codex is a miniature parchment of the late 4th or early 5th cent. C.E. It may welle be the smallest book ever found. In 1969 A. Fackelmann was able to open it and render it readable. Since then a partial critical edition has been published by A. Henrichs and L. Koenen. This edition presents the partial Greek text with a facing English translation. The codex provides the only Greek primary source for Manichaeism, giving information on the early life of Mani, the paptist sect in wich he was reared, and the organisation, ritual practices and theology of the sect.
